DorGO Backup 260

The DorGO Backup 260 is a 24V emergency battery backup system designed to keep DorGO garage door operators running during power failures.

 In simple terms:
It’s a backup battery module that allows your garage door to keep operating during load shedding or outages.

It is typically used with:

  • DorGO 260 systems (where applicable naming variants exist in kits)
  • DorGO 800 sectional operators (standard compatibility family)

Core Function

What it does

  • Supplies 24V DC backup power to the door motor system
  • Automatically switches to battery during:
    • Load shedding
    • Power failures
  • Automatically recharges when mains power returns

The system is integrated into the controller and requires no manual switching.

Battery Specification (DorGO Backup Kit)

The most commonly documented DorGO backup unit in this range is the 3.5Ah 24V kit, which represents the higher-capacity “260-class” backup option.

Parameter Specification
Voltage 24V DC
Capacity 3.5Ah
Temperature range -15°C to +45°C
Protection rating IP20
Weight ~2.35 kg
Size 185 × 73 × 70 mm

Performance (Backup Runtime)

Depending on door load and usage:

  • Typical endurance: multiple cycles during outage
  • Designed for:
    • Short-term outages
    • Load shedding periods
  • Integrated systems often support automatic switching without interruption

DorGO systems typically support battery-backed operation as a standard feature.

Functional Role in System

The DorGO Backup 260 sits between:

  • Control PCB (24V system board)
  • Motor unit (800N operator or similar)
  • Mains power supply

Operation sequence:

  1. Mains power ON → battery charges
  2. Power failure → battery takes over instantly
  3. Door continues normal operation
  4. Power restored → system recharges battery

Installation Context

  • Mounted inside operator housing or nearby enclosure
  • Plug-in wiring to control board
  • Requires:
    • Correct polarity connection
    • Compatible DorGO controller

Must only be installed with DorGO-compatible PCB systems.

Position in DorGO Range

Backup Type Capacity Use Case
Basic backup ~1.2Ah Light residential use
Backup 260 (3.5Ah) Medium capacity Standard residential sectional doors
Larger external UPS systems 7Ah+ High-cycle or heavy doors

Important Notes

  • “260” in naming is not voltage or physical size—it is a series/category reference
  • Actual battery is typically 24V 3.5Ah
  • Not interchangeable with:
    • 12V gate batteries
    • Larger industrial UPS batteries
